- 14:54Uzhhorod and Lviv residents describe rising rents; a local agent says apartment supply cannot meet demand.
Finding somewhere safer to live can mean facing a rent increase or being told to leave again. In Uzhhorod, displaced resident Anastasiia Omelchuk says her landlords explained that they had spoken to a real estate agent, knew prices had risen and expected her to pay more.
Her account appears in an evening bulletin from Ukraine's Fakty ICTV (Факти ICTV), which moves from the aftermath of a Russian missile attack on Kyiv to the pressures facing people seeking accommodation in western Ukraine. Uzhhorod resident Indiia Ahapova describes a rent increase followed by an instruction to move out. Local real estate agent Viacheslav Mishchenko says there simply are not enough apartments. The closing report also examines rising rents in Lviv, with agents suggesting that demand could ease in spring.
The bulletin opens with the more immediate disruption in the capital. It reports deaths and injuries from a nighttime Russian ballistic missile attack, along with damage to residential buildings, a university, a dormitory and transport infrastructure, including the Southern Bridge. Kyiv straddles the Dnipro, making connections between its banks essential to travel across the city.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko says inspections are underway and that their findings will clarify how long traffic restrictions must remain. The report describes restrictions affecting road transport and the metro, additional bus routes and discussion by Kyiv's Defense Council of possible water crossings. Those crossings are presented as an option under consideration, not an operating replacement for the bridge.
Elsewhere, the program reports negotiations for a humanitarian operation and evacuation from Russian-occupied Oleshky, describing a mediation role for US first lady Melania Trump. It also raises the prospect of evacuees traveling through Russia before reaching Ukrainian-controlled territory.
An American politics segment examines Vice President JD Vance's Montana remarks about fuel prices, inflation and dictators. The presenter interprets them as criticism of President Donald Trump, though the quoted remark itself does not name him. The military roundup cites Ukraine's General Staff on fighting around Lyman, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk and Huliaipole, followed by coverage of Ukrainian strikes. A separate segment describes Germany's opposition to reviving Nord Stream 2 and its move away from Russian gas.
The housing interviews bring the bulletin back to a civilian dilemma: leaving danger does not necessarily secure a stable place to stay.
