From a hospital bed, Captain Smit Machchhar tells how he fought back

Three of ETimes' October 2 uploads follow the flydubai cockpit attack, alongside Christa Pike's failed execution and the Sussex security bill.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The flydubai cockpit attack on the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight is still the story ETimes keeps returning to. As we reported here, its Netanyahu video on the attack started far above the channel's usual pace. On October 2 the clips channel of the Times of India group added three more.

The most personal of them is Captain Smit Machchhar's own account. The Indian pilot was stabbed in the cockpit. Speaking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from his hospital bed, he describes struggling back to his feet as the aircraft dropped, and says he kept reciting the Hanuman Chalisa for strength. A second video covers a senior UAE adviser calling the attack a terrorist act. The one drawing the most views, about 14,000 in its first seven hours, is built on claims an Israeli official made about the accused co-pilot's online history.

The rest of the channel's fifteen uploads stay close to the headlines: Christa Pike's botched execution in Tennessee, the cost of private security for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and a moment from Donald Trump's Oklahoma rally.

Other news channels of a similar size are busier. LBC, Times Radio and news.com.au are each drawing roughly double their usual daily views, while People is running quieter than normal.
