Hawks, Fathom and the Clone Wars' twilight: Zero Company's trailers keep playing
EA Star Wars posted nothing new, so a four-month-old gameplay trailer for the Bit Reactor tactics game did most of the work.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Star Wars Zero Company | Official Gameplay Trailer
No uploads, steady interest. EA Star Wars, the official home of the publisher's Star Wars games, went the whole week without posting anything, and its viewing still ran a little above its usual pace.
The reason is the same game in three trailers. Star Wars Zero Company, the single-player turn-based tactics game from Bit Reactor, made with Respawn and Lucasfilm Games, was set to launch on August 27, and its trailers are still being watched well after that date. The busiest is the official gameplay trailer, posted about four months ago and now past 1.6 million views. It sells the game on choices: commanding a squad led by Hawks, a former Republic officer, in an original story set in the twilight of the Clone Wars, with a Mandalorian, a Jedi and even astromechs among the possible recruits.
The final trailer, seven weeks old, follows close behind, built around a line from the hunt for a threat called Fathom. The announce trailer, well over a year old and billed in its description as "the war beneath the war," has mostly settled down.
Among game publisher and esports channels of a similar size, this was one of the calmer weeks. Warhammer and Rocket League both ran far above their usual pace, while EA Star Wars added the fewest views of the group. For a channel waiting on its next announcement, Zero Company is still the game people come for.
