Autocorrect sends DLew's basketball sketch into camouflage

A mistaken "Abby" text turns one more game into a toy-blaster pursuit, topping the channel's three new uploads.

How much trouble can a missing letter cause? DLew's boyfriend character only wants to play one more basketball game, but texting "abby" instead of "baby" gives his girlfriend a rather different impression.

The staged sketch escalates from frantic correction texts to camouflage, sunglasses and a red toy blaster. Meanwhile, the boyfriend tries to settle his nerves on the outdoor court with a friend. Basketball is supposed to be the distraction; it becomes the least of his problems.

"When you text your girl abby instead of baby🤣 #basketball #hoops #sports #shorts" has passed half a million views, making it the week's most-watched new upload and the channel's busiest video right now. Viewers are picking out the unread messages on the phone screen and the opening GIF. One also asks when the bench-to-starter series will return, a reminder that DLew's basketball characters have stories beyond a single gag.

The other new uploads keep that court-comedy thread going: a time-travel premise about deciding the GOAT, followed by a bench player inviting a girl to his game. The latter was only a few hours into its run. Older material has momentum too, particularly September's "When hoopers don't play like their DNA🤣 #basketball #hoops #sports #shorts".

DLew added roughly 4,000 subscribers over the week, while daily viewing is currently above its usual level. Among nearby sketch channels, Remy Zee is having a substantially bigger viewing week, while Sir Stevo Timothy is quieter. For DLew, the bench-player premise also connects back to "The Bench Player Becoming a Starter Season 1", the channel's most-watched regular video.
