Argentine migration authorities confirmed that Flávio Bolsonaro entered Argentina through Puerto Iguazú on Tuesday night, correspondent Luciana Taddeo reports in a broadcast by Brazil's CNN Brasil. Her account adds an officially confirmed border crossing to a journey whose destination and earlier movements had prompted conflicting reports.
Bolsonaro, a Brazilian senator and defeated presidential candidate, traveled with his family, according to the report. He is the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro and has represented Rio de Janeiro in the Senate since 2019.
Reporting from Buenos Aires, Taddeo says the group boarded a private Baires Fly aircraft bound for Guayaquil, Ecuador, before continuing toward Miami's Opa-locka airport. In the studio, anchor Elisa Veeck follows the aircraft's progress on an interactive flight map and retraces the route from Argentina through Ecuador to Florida.
The upload's title announces an arrival in Miami, but the live reporting shown here largely follows the journey while the aircraft is still heading toward the United States. That distinction matters: much of the broadcast concerns establishing where Bolsonaro is, rather than showing his arrival.
Taddeo also describes diplomatic tensions between Brazil and Argentina and cites Argentine newspaper La Nación's reporting that Santiago Caputo, an adviser to Argentine President Javier Milei, was at the airport. The broadcast does not establish what role, if any, he played in the journey.
Political analyst Teo Cury subsequently examines the conflicting accounts of Bolsonaro's whereabouts, arguing that a disinformation strategy accompanied his departure. Veeck also relays ally Paulo Figueiredo's announcement of a Miami press conference scheduled for Thursday, October 29.
