An inspection of a private aircraft in Puerto Iguazú produced no flight plan naming the Bolsonaro family, Argentine authorities told correspondent Luciana Taddeo, as speculation spread about Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's whereabouts.
Reporting from Buenos Aires for Brazil's CNN Brasil, Taddeo separates the government's formal responses from rumors circulating in the Argentine press. Officials deny having a record of Bolsonaro entering Argentina, receiving a request for his entry or receiving an asylum application from him. Those statements do not establish where he is.
Brazilian Federal Police contacted Argentine authorities amid concern that Bolsonaro might flee, the broadcaster reports. The segment also carries an on-screen announcement that his Brazilian passports have been canceled. Bolsonaro, a Liberal Party senator representing Rio de Janeiro, is the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro.
The aircraft became a focus after Argentine press reports suggested a private jet in Puerto Iguazú might be heading to the United States. Taddeo says authorities inspected the plane and its crew, found their documentation in order and reported no Bolsonaro family members on the passenger list or flight plan. The inspection did not substantiate the suggested connection.
The report also addresses President Javier Milei's response to Brazil's election. Taddeo describes the absence of a formal congratulatory message to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and says no statement was expected from the Argentine presidency.
Host Tainá Falcão closes with an important distinction: could Bolsonaro have crossed by an unofficial land or river route? Taddeo says Argentine authorities offered no clarification about investigations into such routes. Their answer concerned the absence of records at official entry points, not a comprehensive account of every possible crossing.
