Heckler interrupts Stevens as she explains backing Republican Rogers

‘Traitor!’: Heckler interrupts Stevens after Rogers endorsement
"My name is Haley Stevens. I'm a proud Democrat." The introduction leads straight into an endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers, with an off-camera heckler interrupting the Detroit press conference.
CNN's short clip has drawn more than half a million views in eight hours, far beyond the channel's usual Shorts start. It captures both Stevens's explanation for supporting the opposing party's Senate nominee and reporters pressing her on the consequences.
Stevens lost Michigan's Democratic Senate primary to Abdul El-Sayed. At the microphones, she says El-Sayed made clear she was not welcome in his campaign. Rogers thanks her for her support and describes their appearance together as a stand against hate.
But Stevens draws a boundary around the endorsement: "I'm not turning my back on Democrats. It is this one vote." As she walks away, a reporter asks whether her decision jeopardizes a Democratic Senate majority. "I don't think so, no," she replies.
The press-conference clip has attracted more views so far than CNN's separate uploads featuring El-Sayed responding to the endorsement and Stevens backing Rogers at a church service. CNN has also carried Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow's response: she argues that the backlash against Stevens could motivate more Democrats to support El-Sayed.
