block bottoms you've never seen

Minecraft's cake has an underside, and camman18 would like you to take a look. His new Short, "block bottoms you've never seen", turns familiar objects over for a miniature tour of the artwork usually hidden underneath. It has drawn about 530,000 views in a little over two hours.

The cactus starts things off: camman18 explains that putting it in an item frame lets you inspect its bottom texture. Cake follows, along with the smooth stone beneath redstone repeaters and comparators. A loom gets singled out for an especially odd underside, but his personal favorite is the intricate pattern beneath a sculk catalyst.

Viewers are finding uses for the discoveries. One imagines the catalyst as a tic-tac-toe board; another suggests pairing its underside with end stone for a ceiling. The cactus, meanwhile, gets a vote as an unexpected decorating material.
