Mirren's Patricia Highsmith trailer runs thirteen times faster at a month old
On its own, the A Talent For Murder trailer drew nearly twice what Bleecker Street's whole channel usually gets in a day.

Bleecker Street, the independent studio behind Leave No Trace and Captain Fantastic, posted the official trailer for A Talent For Murder at the end of August. More than a month later, it has found a new gear. It is running at about thirteen times its own usual daily pace, and on its own it is drawing nearly twice what the whole channel normally brings in across everything it has posted.
The film casts Helen Mirren as Patricia Highsmith, the novelist who created Tom Ripley in The Talented Mr. Ripley. According to the description, Alden Ehrenreich plays a mysterious young man from a New York publisher who is sent to Switzerland, where Highsmith spent her later years, to talk her into writing one last Ripley book. The title plays on the name of the character's first outing.
Perhaps the approaching release is sending people back to the trailer. The film reaches theaters on October 23, and it sits on the channel's "Coming Soon" list next to Hadestown and Victorian Psycho.
