María Corina Machado is preparing to travel across Venezuela after reappearing at the Santa Rosa shrine in Barquisimeto, correspondent Génesis Colmenares reports in a regional bulletin from Mexico's Azteca Noticias.
Colmenares describes a large turnout to welcome the Venezuelan opposition leader on Sunday, following almost a year in exile. Machado said she intended to tour the country, with the report linking her return to efforts to reach agreements on presidential elections. It does not announce an election date or a completed agreement.
Although Machado's return supplies the video's title, her segment begins several minutes into the broadcast. Host Yamid Rojas first turns to São Paulo, where correspondent Phillip Lucas reports steep losses in major Brazilian bank shares and a trading halt following President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's reelection. Lucas recounts Lula's comeback to secure a fourth term and Flávio Bolsonaro's effort to challenge the extension of voting hours in court.
The bulletin then moves to Concepción, Bolivia. Correspondent Mario Rocabado reports an armed confrontation and the capture of a Brazilian suspect wanted by authorities in Goiás. Rocabado says the suspect has financial links to the Brazilian criminal organization PCC.
The final report comes from Tamaulipas, in northeastern Mexico, where Nora Castro describes a peaceful truckers' demonstration on Avenida de la Industria. Drivers want safer highways and tax relief. Their demands include action against cargo theft and the kidnapping of truck operators, putting the security of people carrying goods at the center of the protest.
