Dashcam video shows Florida jet crash that killed all 9 on board
All nine aboard died. But at the time of the briefing carried in the Associated Press video, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said there were no reports of people on the ground being killed or injured by debris.
The clip begins on a wet road. A jet crashes beside it, erupting into flames as black smoke spreads across the driver's view. "Something just fell down," the driver says.
AP identifies the aircraft as a Learjet 60 that crashed in a South Florida neighborhood. Its dashcam upload has drawn about 360,000 views before its first full day, far beyond the channel's usual audience for a Short. AP also published a separate report on the crash, though the dashcam clip has attracted substantially more views.
The footage then gives way to DeSantis standing with emergency responders. He praises Palm Beach County sheriff's personnel and fire rescue crews for their response, describes widespread debris and says officials have contacted the FAA. He also warns of continuing road closures.
