Tinubu, Atiku and Obi in one segment: Kaka and Mbonu set Arise's agenda

The two-guest discussion of Nigeria's three best-known presidential names went up on October 2, the same day the channel covered Olu Jacobs' burial in Lagos.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Who gets Arise News viewers talking a few months before Nigeria's next presidential race? Three men at once, it turns out. "Tinubu, Atiku & Obi:Three Views Of Nigeria - Kaka | Mbonu" put President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi side by side, with two guests weighing what each man's Nigeria looks like, and it became the most watched of the channel's fifteen uploads in its first hours.

The rest of October 2 leaned the same way. An ADC campaign council member, Dr. Ladan Salihu, laid out Atiku's oil plan, which the description sums up as producing, refining and creating jobs at home, and another guest spoke about growing intolerance toward opposition parties. Under the three-candidate segment, the comments became an argument about insecurity, power cuts and whether a second Tinubu term should happen at all, with plenty of replies aimed at the station itself.

Not everything was politics. Arise also filmed the burial of Olu Jacobs in Lagos, the veteran actor whose career helped shape Nollywood, along with a minister's tour of a Lagos meat processing factory and tear gas at a student protest in Paris.

The channel as a whole drew close to twice its usual daily views. Among news broadcasters of its size, only Times Radio added more views over the week; 10 News and CNN 10 were also running far above their normal pace, while TLDR News EU was quieter than usual.
