All Action, a clips channel with more than a million subscribers, posted a short Xena scene three days ago. It sat quietly at first. Then it took off, moving at more than fifty times its earlier pace, and most of its roughly 130,000 views arrived in that one burst.

That makes it an odd standout. The channel's about text promises the greatest scenes "from the biggest action movies in history," yet the video carrying its day comes from syndicated television. On its own, the clip drew about two-fifths of what the whole channel usually gets in a day across everything it has posted.

The scene comes from Xena: Warrior Princess, the series that made Lucy Lawless a star. It began as a spin-off of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and was filmed in New Zealand. According to the tags, the clip is from "Altared States," a first-season episode. The description sets it up plainly: Xena interrupts a family ritual in which a boy is about to be sacrificed, then takes on several attackers to get him home safely. The tags also name Gabrielle, her traveling companion.
