Ukraine wants planned negotiations with Russia brought forward by a week and expanded to include the European Union, according to Ukraine's Channel 24 (24 Канал).
The channel's brief bulletin says three-way meetings involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia are planned in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates' capital, after November 10. It reports that Russia opposes European participation. The proposed earlier timing and wider attendance are presented as Ukraine's wishes, not an agreed arrangement.
Published under the title "⚡️НОВІ ПОДРОБИЦІ ПЕРЕГОВОРІВ України з РФ! #shorts" ("New details of Ukraine's negotiations with Russia"), the Short consists of written text over a static collage, accompanied by tense background music. It contains no spoken statements or footage of negotiations.
The photographs show Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian President Vladimir Putin and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Their appearance in the collage does not establish that they will personally attend the meetings.
The bulletin cautions against expecting a rapid breakthrough: the first meetings, it says, could be spent aligning positions rather than reaching an agreement.
