TR Hamza's neglected Passat W8 has a parts problem
The 2004 Volkswagen project has passed half a million views, joining his Phaeton W12 restoration on the active shelf.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I Bought a Neglected VW Passat W8 for £1500
What do you do with a project car when Volkswagen can no longer supply the parts? That is the challenge TR Hamza sets up in “I Bought a Neglected VW Passat W8 for £1500.” He says VW tried to fix the car but could not because parts were unavailable. Bought through Facebook Marketplace as a spares-or-repairs prospect, it gives his Phaeton W12 some appropriately unusual company.
Hamza posted nothing new this week, but the Passat is his busiest video right now, three weeks after arriving and with more than half a million views. The Phaeton restoration remains active too: part three covers reassembling the rear end with new components after work on the rusty subframe, along with an introduction to his new workshop. The original Phaeton purchase video offers the starting point for that longer project.
Subscribers stayed unchanged, while daily viewing is running at about a third of its usual pace. Nearby motoring channels are also seeing slower-than-usual daily views, though The Daily Downshift had a substantial weekly audience and MattieFlips added subscribers briskly. For Hamza, the neglected Volkswagens remain the main attraction during the upload break.
