Landon has something for Auston Matthews, too. As the Maple Leafs player signs his hockey gear in a dressing room, the young fan hands over a gift bag he brought for the occasion.

"Wow, you're too kind. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it," Matthews tells him. For a moment, the autograph session becomes a thank-you going in both directions.

The Leafs' Short fills in the history with footage from Fan Day in March 2023. An arena host presented Landon with Matthews' stick and tickets to a game at Scotiabank Arena. Now he gets to meet the player himself, with the stick ready for a signature.

The encounter drew nearly 28,000 views in nine hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for Shorts. The comments also passed their usual first-day level, with viewers discussing the gift Landon brought and sharing memories of their own signed Matthews gear.

Matthews signs the jersey Landon is wearing, poses for photos and asks whether he is coming to that night's game before saying goodbye. After he leaves, an adult companion checks in: "Are you good?"
