Josh Krajcik brings "Up to the Mountain" back to The X Factor USA

The archival performance anchors six new uploads, alongside a ballad collection and Demi Lovato's judging moments.

No. 34 on the song chart

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

He Didn’t LOOK Like A Front-Runner… THEN He Opened His MouthHe Didn’t LOOK Like A Front-Runner… THEN He Opened His Mouth

Josh Krajcik has two things he would rather leave behind: making burritos and playing empty clubs. Before singing for Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid, he makes the stakes wonderfully plain: "This performance has a lot riding on it."

His piano-accompanied rendition of "Up to the Mountain," introduced as Kelly Clarkson's version, is the week's most watched new upload on The X Factor USA. Posted under "He Didn't LOOK Like A Front-Runner… THEN He Opened His Mouth", it has reached nearly 400,000 views. The performance ends with the judges and audience standing, but the comments linger on the voice itself: several viewers hear a resemblance to Joe Cocker, while others remember watching the audition before.

The rest of the week's archival programming offers different routes back into the show. "Wow… Ballads That Left Everyone In DISBELIEF" gathers singers including Ally Brooke, Melanie Amaro and Lillie McCloud. Demi Lovato gets a compilation mixing judging, coaching and performances, while Stacy Francis's rendition of "Natural Woman" supplies the newest audition revisit.

Across the channel, viewing is running comfortably above its usual daily pace, and the subscriber count grew by roughly 10,000 over seven days. The X Factor UK is also seeing above-usual daily viewing; American Idol is having a quieter spell by that measure.

Krajcik isn't the only archival singer drawing attention. The previous week's "He Sang ONE Song And Had Everyone SCREAMING!" remains the channel's busiest upload right now, with Krajcik's performance next in daily views.
