Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Lucie Jones was born to perform! #XFactor #WhitneyHouston #DollyParton

The high notes arrive halfway. Lucie Jones begins softly, with Simon Cowell listening, pen near his mouth, before the chorus changes the scale of the audition. Cheers break out, supporters backstage applaud, and Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh smile.

That compact performance is the center of The X Factor UK's week. Both new uploads return to Jones's Series 6 audition, when the Welsh singer was 18: a longer audition upload followed by "Lucie Jones was born to perform! #XFactor #WhitneyHouston #DollyParton," which has reached roughly 360,000 views. It is also the channel's busiest video right now. The two formats offer different ways back into the same television memory, rather than a new performance.

The comments supply a nice reminder of how long those memories last. One viewer recalls watching the audition live on television; another focuses on Cowell waiting for the high notes before smiling. Others discuss the emotion Jones brings to the song, not just its vocal demands.

Across the channel, views added up to about 1.6 million over seven days, while subscribers stayed unchanged. Its current daily viewing pace is comfortably above usual. Nearby in the talent-show world, The X Factor USA is also running above its normal daily pace, while Britain's Got Talent is having a slower spell.

Beyond Jones, September's "NOSTALGIA FEST: ICONIC AUDITIONS from ICONIC ACTS! | The X Factor Auditions" remains a busy archive stop, bringing together early appearances by JLS, Alexandra Burke and the singers who became Little Mix.
