The Atlantic asks what a new Congress should actually do

David Frum's accountability argument joins Jonathan Lemire's campaign commentary and a cybersecurity detour in a 15-upload week.

What comes after the campaign speeches? David Frum's answer is a Congress that does more of its own work.

In "America's Most Useless Congress Faces the Midterms | The David Frum Show," he argues that lawmakers have neglected their responsibilities on war, tariffs and immigration. The episode moves from an indictment of congressional inaction to the urgent tasks he believes a new majority should take up. It reached roughly 307,000 views, with a stronger first-day audience than any other upload among the week's most-watched selections.

Jonathan Lemire's "Trump Is Closing From Behind" nevertheless drew the largest total audience of the new releases, approaching half a million views. As we reported here, Lemire contrasts Trump's closing-rally distractions with voters' concerns about affordability. His wider argument centers on promises about prices, foreign wars and deportations. That October upload also remains the channel's busiest video by daily views, followed by Frum's Congress episode and David A. Graham's "Three Tips for Watching the Results Roll In."

Politics did leave room for a different kind of institutional repair. In "The Entire Internet is Breaking," cybersecurity specialist Alex Stamos joins Charlie Warzel on Galaxy Brain to argue for proactive defenses against AI-enabled hacking, including rewriting vulnerable code in newer programming languages. Elsewhere, David Brooks and Samuel Moyn debate whether meaningful social change requires radicalism or moderation.

The Atlantic added subscribers over the week, although today's viewing is well below its usual daily level. Nearby journalism channels RocaNews and Channel 4 Documentaries are also below their typical daily viewing. For The Atlantic, the week's strongest draw was the closing campaign argument, while Frum supplied the question of what governing should look like afterward.
