'They Had No Clue!': INCIDENT TV's storm clip opens fifty times faster than usual
Soldiers, anglers and a Miami native turned the comment section into a lightning-safety class, while the channel's Lambo video crossed 10 million views.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 3,585,117 views a day, 52 times a normal first day on this channel (69,577).
They Had No Clue! 💀💀💀
What did they have no clue about? Going by the comment section, a thunderstorm gathering right over their heads. INCIDENT TV, a clips channel that collects "real-world incidents" caught on camera, posted the short on October 1. Nine hours later it had nearly 1.9 million views, on pace for about fifty times the channel's usual first day.
The title gives almost nothing away, and the viewers fill in the rest. Many of them read the clip as electric charge building before a lightning strike, and they bring their own stories. One remembers large antennas on tanks in the desert that shocked soldiers during sandstorms. Others describe a strange noise on a fishing line, or a glow on it, as a storm rolled in off the ocean. One passes on a father's rule: when the sky turns black, lower your rods and run.
A line spoken in the clip about moving has a following of its own, mostly asking where exactly anyone could go. Another person in the footage laughs, and that gets its own share of jokes. A few viewers point out that the background music laid over the clip makes it harder to hear the very sound everyone is talking about.
The talk came quickly. The short drew more than three hundred comments in nine hours, while a short here usually gets about ten in a whole day.
Older uploads are moving too. The Lambo clip, which as we reported here opened at thirty-four times the usual pace, has passed 10 million views. A three-day-old video of police pulling up for a giant fish is suddenly running several times faster than its usual daily pace.
