'Tesula': a Tesla gets a tank of gas in The Daily Downshift's newest fiction
Viewers have turned the car's name into a running joke, spelled half a dozen ways, while a scam Short from the same day keeps pace beside it.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 587,004 views a day, 10 times a normal first day on this channel (55,687).
Pumped Gas in Tesla Fiction ⛽️ (Fiction)
Pouring gasoline into a car that has no gas tank is the entire premise of "Pumped Gas in Tesla Fiction ⛽️ (Fiction)," and the title says "fiction" twice, just in case anyone was about to try it at home.
The Daily Downshift already draws close to a million views on an ordinary day, yet its Shorts usually open more modestly, at around 55,000 on day one. This one had passed 290,000 within eight hours.
The comment section is filling at about twice the usual first-day pace, and it has mostly settled on one word. Viewers keep writing the car's name the way they apparently heard it in the clip: Tesula, Tesoola, Tesila, Teslua. One patient soul replies that it is Tesla. A few take the premise more seriously, and one points out that in a car built without a fuel tank the gas would have nowhere to go and would simply leak out.
The Tesla had company. "Wobbly Wheel Scam🛞," posted the same day, was past half a million views after 18 hours, and "Why Cars Run Without Keys 🔑" was also running well ahead of a normal start. The fiction label is becoming a habit on this channel: earlier this month its stolen-Civic story, the one with the "Goonda chivic," passed a million, as we reported here. The newest upload has already moved on to a flying car.
