Typical Gamer's Pirate Token update closes Fortnite's vault shortcut
The change is reinforced vaults, not a confirmed reduction in token odds: players now need keys to reach the chests inside.

Blasting into a sealed vault is off the menu. Typical Gamer's new TG Plays video revisits the Pirate Shop token hunt with a practical change to the search: vault doors, walls and floors can no longer be broken.
The upload has drawn roughly 700,000 views in its first thirteen hours. Its title, "Fortnite Just NERFED The PIRATE TOKEN...", promises a setback, but the important distinction is what actually changed. He shows Fortnite Status's announcement confirming reinforced vaults, rather than an announcement that the token itself has become less likely to drop.
That changes a shortcut in the guide we covered earlier today, as we reported here. Players could previously reach the loot by breaking through from outside. "You need a vault key to actually go ahead and get any of the chests inside the vault now," Typical Gamer explains.
He also maps a chest-heavy route around Busy Bay and demonstrates dropping and re-equipping a Fortune Sprite to make it ping nearby chests. His personal target is a hundred chests per match, an ambitious amount of searching for an item he still hasn't found.
The comments pick up that tension: viewers describe their own unsuccessful hunts, while others distinguish a corrected vault exploit from a change to token odds.
At the end, Typical Gamer watches Xen Grxnt find the token and run around his room in disbelief. "I want that feeling, dude! I want that feeling, man!" For all the route planning, someone else's lucky moment is still the part he wants for himself.
