Equip the right sprite before chasing Fortnite's rarest loot: that's the practical starting point of Typical Gamer's Pirate Shop Access Token guide on TG Plays.
Andre Rebelo recommends the Fortune Plundarrgh variant to locate nearby chests and gain movement and pickaxe speed boosts. Then he suggests joining Trios or Squads to search more efficiently. The method is about getting through more chests, not demonstrating a guaranteed token drop.
The prize explains the effort. Rebelo says the token unlocks free Item Shop access for 14 days, with exclusions including real-money packs, gifting and battle pass tiers. He also discusses rare gold rewards, but presents his estimates of their odds as estimates.
His gameplay supplies a useful workaround for locked doors: explosive cannonballs can break open chests inside a sealed vault. After an elimination interrupts his first attempt, he checks the replay to confirm the trick worked. In another match, he shoots through a vault's window slats to reach the chests inside.
The comments add a distinction worth noting. Several viewers recommend Squads, while others challenge the suggestion that team size changes the chance of a reward appearing in any individual chest. Faster searching and better odds per chest aren't the same proposition.
This is also an earlier chapter in a moving guide. TG Plays has since posted rumor clarification and red-chest mythbusting, followed by an upload titled "Fortnite Just NERFED The PIRATE TOKEN...", which describes the token as harder to find.

I found it last night in a regular chest while playing solo and doing some quests. Not going to activate it yet. Good luck, everybody!

@4YD3NツSee it on YouTube6:19 Actually the game doesn't nerf the spawn rate for squads. The baseline chance per chest is identical in all BR game modes

I've exclusively played squads, I've opened 700 chests individually and I've gotten every single reward besides the 2 rarest ones. Squads is the way, I promise you guys.
