SuperYummy gives stale bread a savory second life
An omelet with mozzarella and tomato offers a different answer to the leftovers behind the channel's most-watched Short.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 575,961 views a day, 6.3 times a normal day (90,795).
SuperYummy's biggest bread-saving hit turns stale slices into pudding. Its new upload takes them in a savory direction, pairing bread with eggs, melted butter, mozzarella and fresh tomato.
"Stale bread omelet with cheese and tomato" joins the channel as daily views climb to roughly 576,000, more than six times its usual pace. The new recipe has a modest audience so far, though, so that channel-wide jump shouldn't be mistaken for a breakout by the omelet itself.
The ingredient list gives the familiar combination a little extra seasoning: lemon pepper, oregano and paprika. It also follows another leftovers-minded upload, "Skillet pie with rotini pasta, cheese, and tomato," which starts with yesterday's pasta rather than bread. Eggs and pantry seasonings connect the two recipes.
That practical streak has a long history here. SuperYummy's most-watched Short is "After this recipe, I never threw away stale bread again. Easy and delicious pudding!" The new omelet returns to the same household problem, but swaps the sweet finish for cheese and tomato.
