What should a babysitter charge? Street Cents asks, and the comments answer in dollars
Hannah Hormillada and Sam Bird also hunted a $5 food court lunch and asked 20 Toronto stores if they were hiring.

Street Cents, the CBC channel that spends its own money so young Canadians do not have to waste theirs, usually runs at a brisker clip than it did over these seven days. It still gathered more views than any of the food and lifestyle channels nearest its size, about 2.4 million, and added roughly a thousand subscribers.
The first of the week's three uploads did the most work. "What Should I Charge for Babysitting?" is a skit about a first job, and its answer is the honest one: it depends. Where you live, your experience, how many kids and what the family expects all change the rate, so the description sends would-be sitters to Facebook, Reddit and Nextdoor to see what local parents actually pay. The comment section became that research. Teenagers post their own rates, many add a couple of dollars for each extra child, some list first aid and CPR training to explain a higher price, and a few parents chime in with what they have paid over the years.
The other two stayed with money and first jobs. Hannah and Sam split up across two food courts under their office with $5 each to find a savory lunch, in a building where almost everything costs more than that. Then they walked a busy Toronto retail street and asked 20 stores, Brandy Melville, Chipotle, Lululemon and Miniso among them, whether anyone was hiring.
The shelf's real momentum sits a little further back. A 12-day-old drugstore test of the pink tax, with Hannah sure the "girl" version always costs more and Sam unconvinced, has passed three million views. A five-week-old jeans hunt, with a 4'11" Hannah and a $50 budget, is moving just as fast.

I babysit a kid and i charge 15 bucks an hour. Minimum wage here is 17.50 an hour and i’m too young to be making that so 15 was right for me

Honestly I’d do a $12 an hour with an extra 2 bucks each kid. So three kids would be 18 an hour. And maybe a pet fee of $1 per pet idk
@EssieForgets26See it on YouTubeI have one friend I occasionally babysit for. She throws me what she can afford and makes sure there's pizza available.
@ddmorgan3939See it on YouTubeI have the same Osaka water bottle 😂😂
@SimratPataraSee it on YouTubealso babysitting and nannying are different... babysitting is the evening and night you maybe watch the kids having dinner, give them a bath, put them to bed and stay until parents are home that is usually a cheaper hourly rate. nannying is in the daytime when the kids are active that's a more expensive hourly rate
