Viewers ask for the red card in Newcastle-Everton highlights

Stan Sport Football's fast-starting match reel has viewers questioning an omission, alongside discussion of Jordan Pickford's saves.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 111,390 views a day, 35 times a normal first day on this channel (3,184).

Everton's away win has brought Stan Sport Football an unusually large audience, but much of the conversation concerns something outside the edit: viewers keep asking where the red-card incident went.

The Newcastle highlights drew an estimated 110,000 views in their first day, far beyond the channel's usual start for regular videos. The comments were unusually busy too, with repeated requests to include the dismissal and questions about how the match was condensed. The reel itself does not show a red-card incident.

What it does show is Everton creating chances before Thierno Barry taps in a low ball that squeezes past Newcastle's goalkeeper. Jordan Pickford then supplies the late intervention, sticking out a foot to stop Yoane Wissa equalising. Everton leave St James' Park with a 1-0 win.

As we reported here, Barry's finish and Pickford's save give the package its decisive moments. The new talking point is the missing context viewers want around them.

Elsewhere on Stan Sport Football, the Champions League highlights of Galatasaray against Stuttgart and Shakhtar Donetsk against Sporting CP have also made faster-than-usual starts.
