Who stays, who leaves, and who is already thinking about the next presidential election? Those questions drive the latest TRUMP100 episode as Sky News's podcast climbs from 160th to 72nd on Apple's podcast chart in Ireland.
The show follows Donald Trump's second White House term, with Mark Stone, James Matthews, Martha Kelner and David Blevins sharing hosting duties. Its election coverage has moved from a reporting trip across eleven states to the Democratic victories in Congress and the consequences for Trump's administration.
In "Who in Trump's team will survive the midterms fallout?", Blevins is joined by Sky's international affairs editor Dominic Waghorn. They examine Pete Hegseth's position as defence secretary, playing his defiant response to critics alongside Trump's public endorsement: "Pete Hegseth has done a fantastic job."
The conversation then shifts from keeping a cabinet job to preparing for a presidential bid. Blevins and Waghorn discuss rumours about Marco Rubio's future and assess JD Vance's vulnerabilities after the Republican losses. "It's all about positioning, and I think Rubio has been better at the positioning game than JD Vance," Blevins says.
There is also a different kind of White House positioning: Melania Trump's diplomatic role. Her meeting with Russian figures for a humanitarian announcement concerning Ukraine prompts Blevins to reach for a television comparison, Netflix's The Diplomat, before Waghorn examines what influence she might have on the president.
US defence secretary since 2025, Hegseth is an Army veteran and former television personality.
