Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 240,147 views a day, 35 times a normal first day on this channel (6,908).

Cheer squad came through to fix the net 🐐 (via jatanajackson/TT)

Throwing another basketball at the problem gets the first ball loose. It does not fix the net. That takes a different set of skills.

In a high school gym, players try sending balls through the hoop to free the net caught around the rim. Then the cheerleading squad walks onto the court in red uniforms. "Cheerleaders going to save the day right now," a spectator says.

The squad gathers beneath the basket and coordinates with the referee before lifting a flyer toward the hoop. From there, the tangled net is within reach. The cheerleader straightens it out, dismounts safely and leaves the referee to retrieve the game ball as the crowd cheers.

SportsCenter NEXT, ESPN's youth-sports channel, posted the clip with credit to jatanajackson on TikTok. It drew roughly a quarter of a million views in its first day, compared with about 7,000 for a usual Short on the channel.

The neat reversal is that the people supporting the game from the sidelines become the ones who get it moving again. No basket required, just a well-placed lift.
