Nothing new went up on Rotten Tomatoes Classic Trailers this week. The busiest corner of the vault was 1990, twice over.
The trailer for Stephen King's It, with Tim Curry as Pennywise in the ABC miniseries that gave a generation a lasting fear of clowns, has passed 50,000 views in its first month. Close behind, and gathering views at almost the same daily rate despite being two weeks younger, is The Hunt for Red October, with Sean Connery as a Soviet submarine captain, Alec Baldwin and James Earl Jones. Phenomenon, the 1996 John Travolta drama with Kyra Sedgwick and Forest Whitaker, rounds out the three.
The subscriber count held still, just shy of two million, fourth among nine similar trailer and studio channels. Its neighbors were all running below their usual pace, from Warner Bros. Classics and Paramount Movies to Amazon MGM Studios and the channel's sibling, Rotten Tomatoes TV.
