'Obsessed with us' - Davidson says of National about Swarbrick | RNZ
Christopher Luxon warns voters about Chlöe Swarbrick becoming finance minister in a Labour-led coalition. Marama Davidson's response is that National should be answering questions about its own economic record.
RNZ's clip brings the two arguments together, opening with the prime minister at a podium before cutting to an outdoor interview with Davidson, Swarbrick's fellow Green Party co-leader.
Asked on Sunday about National's use of Swarbrick in election advertising and speeches, Davidson says: "They've got nothing to offer for New Zealanders." She argues that the campaign's focus on the Greens reflects a lack of answers on the cost of living, and accuses the government of misrepresenting economic conditions.
"They are obsessed with us and we're just going to keep focusing on our solutions..." Davidson says.
Her defence of Swarbrick centres on investment in public services and energy independence. Davidson describes that economic vision as the most coherent offered by any party, a campaign assessment rather than an independent finding.
The clip has drawn about 8,000 views since yesterday, making it RNZ's most-watched new upload over that period. In a separate follow-up, RNZ reports Luxon denying that National's attacks on Swarbrick amount to cyber-bullying.
