Vassago Voice Actor Intro | Helluva Boss | Prime Video

Prime Video's newest Helluva Boss Short has a simple job: put a face to a voice. "Take a peek behind the beak with Harvey Guillén," the description says, and the clip introduces Guillén as the voice of Vassago, the bird demon in Vivienne Medrano's adult animated comedy about a crew of imp assassins from Hell.

Many viewers knew the face at once. The most popular comments point to Guillermo de la Cruz, the long-suffering familiar Guillén played for six seasons of What We Do in the Shadows, and to Perrito, the relentlessly cheerful dog he voiced in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. One fan wonders why nobody has yet animated Vassago doing Perrito's famous swearing rant. Others are already guessing at Vassago's history with Stolas, the owl prince at the heart of the show, and remembering the episode where the character first caught their eye.

The Short had passed 86,000 views six hours after it went up, a pace well beyond a usual first day for the channel's clips. The comment section moved faster still, about twenty times busier than a typical Short's entire first day.

It was a crowded day for Vivziepop's world on the channel. Helluva Boss also released "Rope," an official single about a bird who "can't be tied down," and a Hazbin Hotel Short celebrating Lucifer did well too, as did the trailer for the zombie film Apocalypse Z: New World. Even so, the small introduction drew the biggest start of the lot.
