"Absolutely not": Phone Repair Guru's Duo verdict comes after an hour on the inner screen
Suhail's teardown of Apple's first foldable finds batteries that come out cleanly, a hidden magnet array and a logic board he calls "absolutely tiny."

Things we can learn from the video
Press to jump
- 1:05A fingernail scratch test on the inner folding display leaves no visible marks.
- 1:39A sponsored segment shows an ESR case with a hinge cover and kickstand.
- 4:43Electrically released adhesive frees the outer battery, rated at 2,962 mAh, with little effort.
- 5:58Magnet viewing paper reveals a second magnet array inside the MagSafe ring.
- 8:16The 1,921 mAh second battery, the vapor chamber and the camera sensors come out of the rear module.
- 10:09A tiny A20 Pro board, an hour-long inner screen removal, then the verdict at 11:59.
The batteries were the easy part. In "Cancel Your Pre-Order... iPhone Duo Teardown," Suhail, the host of Phone Repair Guru, takes Apple's first foldable apart down to the last screen. Along the way he finds more to like than the title suggests.
He starts gently. A fingernail dragged across the inner display leaves, in his words, "absolutely nothing." Then come heat, pentalobe screws and pry tools, and a moment of surprise when he realizes the phone is still switched on. The outer battery is held by adhesive that lets go when a current is applied, and it comes free with none of the usual wrestling. "It really seems like thinner equals more repairable," he says, calling it a pleasant surprise. A second, smaller battery sits in the rear module beside the vapor chamber and the two 48MP cameras.
The oddest find is under the back glass. Magnet viewing paper shows the familiar MagSafe ring with an unexpected extra array inside it, and that discovery has kept the comment section guessing. Viewers float ideas: a way to grip cases, or a hint that future chargers will change.
Then the tone shifts. The side button with its Touch ID sensor is hard to replace and, by Apple's own service pricing, expensive. The logic board carrying the A20 Pro chip is so small it makes him swear. Prying off the folding inner display takes him more than an hour, and when the reassembled phone lights up, he sounds relieved: "And the inner display actually works."
The video carries a sponsored segment for an ESR case and a plug for his own repair course. Many commenters say they arrived after watching JerryRigEverything's teardown, and one sketches the division of labor among repair channels: one tries to break the phone, one upgrades the storage, and Suhail opens it up and gives it a transparent back.
The title's question gets a straight answer. Would he suggest the Duo to anyone? "Absolutely not."

either there are magnets on the other side of the fold and it's for the closing mechanism or future chargers and holders will have a magnet array in the middle.@Danny-wv8ecSee it on YouTubeA big thank you to you who spent your money to show us; we owe you gratitude.
