Snowboards and ballpoint pens fill Nintendo's indie week

Fifteen uploads give individual games room beyond the showcase, from HYPERyuki's split-screen racing to Finding Polka's hand-drawn adventure.

Nintendo of America followed its Indie World presentation with a lineup that makes room for very different kinds of escape: snowboard tricks, a search for a familiar-looking dog and a panda's pressure-washing business. These are Nintendo's promotional trailers, but the smaller games give the week's lineup its character.

"Indie World Showcase 10.28.2026" was the most watched of the week's uploads, passing a million views. Hosts Kelly and Chris hand the microphone to developers along the way, including brothers Noel and Liam Berry for the four-color action-puzzle platformer City of None. In the comments, viewers discuss the showcase's role in introducing smaller projects, with City of None and the wonderfully literal title My Arms Are Longer Now getting particular mentions.

Beyond the presentation, HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate has the strongest momentum among the week's individual trailers. Its early-2027 announcement promises courses based on real locations, split-screen play and a Chill Mode for exploring without the competitive pressure. It is currently drawing views almost as quickly as the full showcase; the FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launch trailer is another busy arrival.

Finding Polka offers a gentler contrast. Its world is illustrated entirely in ballpoint pen, following Frendy as she chases a dog resembling her former pet. Bao Bao's Cozy Cleaning Services swaps that journey for clearing grime from pixel-art spaces.

The channel added roughly ten million views over seven days while its subscriber count held steady. Daily viewing is running above its usual pace. Among fellow publishers, League of Legends had a particularly substantial viewing week, while Nintendo and the official Pokémon channel recorded very similar weekly totals. For Nintendo, the busiest corner remains this assortment of smaller worlds, rather than a single familiar mascot.

  • I think people don’t get the point of Indie World. It isn’t the place to announce massive updates to big games, it’s the place for smaller indies to get eyes on them.
