The worst feeling 😖 #nfl
What do you do when a well-placed punt gets carried into the end zone by your own teammate? Seattle's punter puts his hands on his head. The split-screen replay leaves that reaction in view while the mistake unfolds above it.
Posted by NFL on CBS, the Short shows Pritchett's effort to keep the ball out of the end zone undone by Rodney Thomas sliding across the goal line with it. The result is a touchback: instead of leaving the receiving team pinned near its own goal line, a punt touchback gives it possession at the 20-yard line. Another Seattle player throws his hands up.
The clip uses footage credited on screen to NFL on ESPN. It drew roughly 180,000 views in its first day, against the channel's usual Shorts start of around 10,000.
The comments are unusually busy, too. Viewers focus on whether another touch was necessary, while one asks exactly when a punt is considered down. That distinction is the whole frustration here: reaching the ball is not the same as securing it short of the end zone.
Other Seattle-Chicago moments are also drawing fast starts on NFL on CBS, including Jaxon Smith-Njigba's reaction to a call and a clip about the Bears' emphatic performance. This one keeps its focus on a single special-teams mistake and the teammates watching it happen.

What viewers say
I dont understand how its when the ball is declared down. I always thought it was were they touch the ball with their feet on the ground its dead there. But he slid and touched the ball at like the 3 yards line..
