Baby Batrick's grocery trip gets loud on Natural Habitat Shorts
An oversized baby bat and a one-item shopping list anchor the week's most watched new sketch.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Baby bats are born huge, up to 43% of mom's weight, and call out in low pitched cries when separated
The shopping list says only "blood," but the mother bat has a more immediate problem: pushing a cart occupied by her enormous baby. Stepping toward the refrigerator aisle is enough to set off a booming cry of "Mommy!" Her response is wonderfully matter-of-fact: "I'm right here, baby."
Natural Habitat Shorts turns its baby-bat premise into an animated supermarket predicament, complete with a merchandise advertisement after the sketch. The upload has passed two million views, making it the most watched of the channel's two new arrivals this week. In the comments, viewers keep returning to the unexpectedly deep voice, imagining a playdate with another of the channel's baby characters and connecting this little Batrick to his grown-up appearances.
The other arrival takes animal courtship as its starting point. "During courtship, a male rabbit will chase the doe. She may flee at first to test his determination" reached roughly 1.5 million views within twelve hours and is currently the channel's busiest upload. Behind it, September's marmot mouth-sparring sketch continues to draw substantial daily viewing, followed by the gibbons and their sirenlike howls.
The channel added subscribers over the week, while its current daily views are comfortably above their usual pace. It also had the largest weekly views gain among the nearby animal channels here. AGuyAndAGolden is enjoying above-usual daily viewing too, while Aquarium Info and Jay Prehistoric Pets are running more quietly than usual. For Natural Habitat Shorts, the fresh addition to its animal sitcom is a grocery-shopping mother who cannot step a few feet away without being summoned.

My immediate first thought was "what if this baby and the bird imposter baby had a playdate".
Edit: Read as "imposter baby who is a bird", not "imposter bird who is a baby". Of course Robert is a bird, people! 😅😊@MortalAnonymousSee it on YouTubeWonder if it's the very same store Batrick works at when he grows up. "OOOAAAAAAAAAHH!!"
