Paul Cuffaro gets a workout without leaving The Reptile Zoo: a large reticulated python draped over his shoulders supplies the weight. Jay Brewer has a name for it: "You don't have to go to the gym, you just do primeval workout here."
The visit to Fountain Valley, California, is their first collaboration in seven years, Jay explains. "Paul Cuffaro Meets Some of Our Most Dangerous Reptiles😳" became the most watched of Jay Prehistoric Pets' nine new uploads, reaching roughly 31,000 views.
There is more to this reunion than big snakes. Paul feeds Gilly, a black dragon Asian water monitor, and holds Davey the alligator. Jay introduces the two-headed Texas rat snake Thelma & Louise, then a two-headed ball python. Paul's companion Ella Evoy has a different challenge: holding Rosey, a Chilean rose tarantula, despite her fear of spiders. Among the comments, one viewer recalls discovering an interest in king cobras through Tyler Nolan's channel; another singles out the albino rattlesnake's defensive behavior.
The tour has the week's largest new-upload total, but the freshest crocodilian clip, "We see a monster 🐊," is currently drawing views fastest. The snake upload "Got ourselves a double whammy of terror 🐍 🐍 with this snake! Or snakes! 🐍" follows it in daily momentum.
Across the channel, the week brought nearly a million views, with subscribers unchanged. Daily viewing is a little below its usual pace. Nearby animal channels have had very different weeks: Natural Habitat Shorts is enjoying particularly strong viewing, while Brian Barczyk and Corbin Maxey are running below their customary daily pace. For Jay, the new lineup ranges from beaded lizards to crocodiles, but Paul's return provided the week's fullest animal encounter.
