Martin and Marquez trade the lead in Australian Sprint duel
MotoGP's close-up of the title contenders draws more than 800,000 views in less than a day, alongside longer Australian GP highlights.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 835,550 views a day, 31 times a normal first day on this channel (26,740).
CLASSIC MARC VS MARTIN ⚔️
Jorge Martin slips inside Marc Marquez, runs wide, then comes back for another attempt. MotoGP's Australian Sprint clip captures a lead that neither rider is willing to leave alone, before Martin's crash brings their exchange to an abrupt end.
The Short, titled "CLASSIC MARC VS MARTIN ⚔️", has drawn about 810,000 views in less than a day, far beyond the channel's usual start for the format. Its comment section is also much busier than usual, with viewers discussing the repeated passes, Phillip Island's sweeping layout and memories of Marquez's earlier encounters with Maverick Viñales.
There is more to the sequence than a single overtaking move. Martin sweeps ahead at Doohan Corner, drifts wide at the Southern Loop and later delivers an inside block pass that earns an emphatic call from the commentary booth: "Martin on the inside with the ultimate block pass!" Soon afterward, he loses the bike and slides into the gravel, where marshals come to assist him.
The channel has also posted a longer account of the title contenders' contest and a separate Sprint highlights package, both attracting unusually quick audiences for its regular videos. Follow-up uploads turn to Martin after the crash, including a message from teammate Marco Bezzecchi and footage of Martin leaving the medical center.
