Bezzecchi and Alex Marquez collide in Australian GP practice
MotoGP's replay follows the contact, the gravel-trap crash and the debris that brought out red flags at Phillip Island.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 300,763 views a day, 13 times a normal first day on this channel (23,488).
Marco and Alex collide in Practice 👀
Marco Bezzecchi's Aprilia catches the rear of Alex Marquez's motorcycle through turn 3. Fairing debris flies, Bezzecchi runs onto the grass and his bike slides with him into the gravel. MotoGP's practice replay then shows why the session had to stop: debris scattered between turns 3 and 4.
The Australian GP Short has drawn nearly 300,000 views in less than a day, putting its estimated first-day audience at roughly thirteen times the channel's usual start for Shorts. The comment section is also far busier than usual, with corner speed and the pressures of finding space for a fast lap among the subjects viewers discuss.
The replay gives several perspectives on the contact. A rear-facing onboard view adds telemetry, while another angle shows Marquez continuing through the corner as Bezzecchi crashes behind him. Marquez's own camera catches him looking back and gesturing with a hand.
"That's just Bezzecchi carrying so much corner speed there on the Aprilia," a commentator says. The clip does not establish any subsequent penalty or medical outcome.
The collision is part of a broader burst of interest in MotoGP's Phillip Island coverage. Its Friday recap and an extended look at the final minutes of practice are also drawing unusually strong starts for the channel's longer videos.
