Dana White on Herb Dean's 'rough year', and the Bobby Green stoppage behind it

The short pulled more viewers than MMA Junkie's full UFC 332 press conference, and much of its comment section ends up taking the referee's side.

Dana White: 'Herb Dean is having a rough f*cking year!'

"Herb Dean is having a rough f*cking year" is what Dana White told reporters after UFC 332 in Salt Lake City. MMA Junkie cut that moment into a short, and it has become the channel's most watched clip from the night. The description sets the scene: White was answering for Dean, who came under fire again for how he stopped the lightweight fight between Esteban Ribovics and Bobby "King" Green.

Dean has been a fixture in UFC cages for more than two decades, so his calls get picked apart more than most referees'. This one landed on a busy night. Natalia Silva won the vacant women's flyweight title against Wang Cong, and her short about not waiting for Valentina Shevchenko kept almost the same pace. The full press conference, where White also covers Eddie Hearn and criticism of the card, has drawn fewer views than the short taken from it.

The comments say the most. A short on this channel usually gets a handful on its first day. This one passed 80 in under a day, and many of them defend Dean. Viewers count the knockdowns, point to Green's age and describe legs that had already gone. Several who call themselves Green fans compare it with his earlier fight against Jalen Turner, which they say went on far longer than it should have. Not all of it is serious: a Toy Story joke about the way Green fell gets passed around, and someone turned his nickname into a famous 1990s chorus.

The headline called it Dean's rough year. Under the clip, a good share of viewers think this particular call was not one of the rough ones.
