McLaren's costume question turns the joke on the interviewer

Driver banter joins a Barbara de Regil garage tour in a fifteen-upload week for the team's official channel.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

We’re not that scary 🥹We’re not that scary 🥹

McLaren asks its drivers what they would dress up as, and the interviewer becomes a costume suggestion. "Probably you," comes the answer, followed by the explanation: "Scare a few people off, wouldn't it."

The short interview, "We're not that scary 🥹", is the most-watched of the team's fifteen uploads this week, reaching roughly 70,000 views. The other costume proposal is Chucky, offered after an admission that Halloween isn't really the driver's thing. It's a small exchange rather than an elaborate production, with viewers picking out Lando Norris's laugh, Oscar Piastri's understated delivery and the conveniently seasonal colours of their team clothing.

The official racing-team channel also posted a scare-wall ranking and "Circuit Higher or Lower 🧠". Away from the costume questions, Mexican actress Barbara de Regil, known for Rosario Tijeras, visits the garage in "Barbara de Regil tours the papaya garage | McLaren Racing". That tour and "When in Mexico City...🪅" join the driver interview among the channel's active draws.

McLaren added about 2.1 million views over the week, while its subscriber count stayed unchanged. Daily viewing is currently running noticeably above its usual level. Across the motorsport neighbourhood, FORMULA 1 and MotoGP are also having busier-than-usual days, while Oracle Red Bull Racing is quieter than its normal daily pace.

For McLaren, the week's most-watched new upload needs neither an engine note nor a lap time: just a costume question and an interviewer willing to become the answer.
