AMD Acquires Fei-Fei Li’s World Labs for $8.2 Billion
Bloomberg Television posted fifteen videos this week, and Monday alone produced the six most watched. At the top is AMD's purchase of World Labs, the AI startup founded by Fei-Fei Li. Ed Ludlow of Bloomberg Tech sits down with Li and AMD chief executive Lisa Su to talk about the all-stock deal. Li is best known as the Stanford researcher behind ImageNet, the image dataset that helped launch modern computer vision.
Bob Chapek shows up twice. He appears in the Businessweek episode where Trump turns down Iran's offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and again in a shorter cut. There he says he has not been back to a Disney park since he was fired in 2022, and that the company has erased him. His book is called 'Behind the Castle Walls.' The rest of Monday was pure markets: MongoDB dropping on news about its CEO, and stocks and bonds sliding as oil pushed yields higher.
Among money and business channels, Bloomberg Television sits sixth by subscribers. CNBC is running at well over twice its usual daily pace, while CNBC Television is a little quieter than normal.
