Amy Acton won Ohio. But in Jeff Waldorf's account of election night, the concession call is the detail that captures how the campaign ended: Vivek Ramaswamy called, and Acton did not pick up.
The Logical Leftist's video opens with that unanswered call before playing Ramaswamy's concession speech. "It was a tough race. It was bitter at times in both directions," the Republican says.
Waldorf challenges that framing by returning to a campaign ad featuring Acton's estranged mother. He recounts criticism from former Ohio governors and Republican Governor Mike DeWine, then describes the ad being withdrawn shortly before the election without an apology. His argument is that the unanswered call cannot be separated from the campaign that preceded it.
Acton, Ohio's former state health director, becomes the first woman elected governor of the state. Waldorf contrasts her opponent's financial advantages with her emphasis on healthcare and everyday costs. Near the end, Acton's victory speech shifts the focus from campaign tactics to her own experience of homelessness, abuse and neglect. "I know what it's like when people look the other way when you're struggling," she says.
The upload drew an estimated 55,000 views in its first day, around fifteen times the channel's usual start for regular videos. Waldorf's separate commentary on Arizona Republicans and Turning Point also attracted an unusually fast audience, extending the channel's post-election surge beyond Ohio.
