Which console does your name get? JBIN CLIPS YT's letter game adds 102,000 subscribers
A second round of the video game console short passed a million views, while the channel's pets, football teams and Halloween costumes for every letter, year and month kept the formula running.
Why this story? The channel went from 446,000 to 548,000 subscribers this week.
JBIN CLIPS YT runs on one simple idea: take the first letter of your name, your birth month or your year, and the short tells you what it "makes" you. A pet. A Halloween costume. An American football team. The one that caught on this time was a games console.
"The First Letter of Your Name is Your Video Game Console! |Pt.2|" went up on September 29 and passed a million views within a few days. Most of the channel's other recent shorts sit in the tens of thousands. As the label says, it is a sequel to an earlier console round, and the setup only works if the viewer stays to find their own letter.
The channel grew by more than a fifth in seven days, adding 102,000 subscribers to reach 548,000, and its daily views are running at roughly four times their usual level. The channel's about line promises interesting facts and interactive content, and the console short belongs to the second kind.
Among clips channels close to its size, Dash Crash Cam is also running at more than twice its usual pace, while FactsBuzzHQ is having a much quieter stretch.
The rest of the week shows the formula at work, with one detour. Alongside the name and date games sits a butter squishy made without wax. The football-team-by-year short is the busiest of the newer uploads so far, though still a long way from the console's crowd.
