'Serbia is free': scenes of celebration in Belgrade as Vučić concedes Serbian election
Guardian News finds Filip still struggling to take in Serbia's election result. "Unreal. This is like a dream," he says on a Belgrade street. He describes feeling as though he needs to wake up and go to work, before reminding himself that this is reality.
Around him, crowds wave flags and light red flares following the opposition Student List's parliamentary victory. Law student Mila puts her reaction more directly: "And now Serbia is free!" Another voter, Dragana Balić, describes the difficulty of believing a result people had hoped for.
The report then leaves the streets for Aleksandar Vučić's concession. Speaking behind a podium, he acknowledges that his side has lost, while noting that final results are not yet available. Guardian News reports that Student List is projected to hold a clear parliamentary majority.
The Short drew about 163,000 views in its first day, roughly ten times the channel's usual start for the format. It follows the pre-election Belgrade gathering we reported here, replacing the anticipation of that earlier footage with voters absorbing the outcome.
On the Student List stage, candidate Radomir Saičić thanks citizens who refused to give up. Applause follows, and he embraces colleagues beside the podium.
