Francis Bourgeois gives Amy a quieter kind of Jazz

A workshop visit replaces the pink Honda's droning exhaust, though Amy's test-drive verdict is rather more restrained than Francis's.

A Jazz-y Surprise For Amy!

Intercom headsets are an elaborate solution to a noisy car journey. Francis Bourgeois has found a more permanent one: taking his pink Honda Jazz to the workshop for a properly silenced exhaust.

There were no new uploads this week, but "A Jazz-y Surprise For Amy!" is the channel's busiest video right now, approaching two million views. Francis guides Amy out of the car with her eyes closed before revealing the surprise. No grand destination, just the prospect of travelling without the old exhaust's relentless drone.

A few days later, Dave at OverKill Performance shows them the stainless steel replacement beneath the car. Francis is delighted by the test drive. Amy supplies the beautifully measured counterpoint: "What do you want me to say? Cuz I can't tell that much of a difference."

The trains haven't disappeared beneath the bonnet. "Norfolk & Western 611 Blew My Socks Off!" and "I Found A Rare Train Spotting Location!" are the next busiest uploads, giving the channel's railway outings an audience alongside its motoring detour.

Across the week, Francis added about 5,000 subscribers. Daily views are currently a little below their usual level, so this is continued growth rather than a sudden viewing surge. Among nearby machinery and aviation channels, Mr Hewes had a particularly busy week, while FlightChops was quieter. Francis's own upload-free week has its most distinctive moment in a passenger who isn't quite ready to endorse the exhaust upgrade.
