The laptop goes first. In Foxtel's excerpt from The Social Network, Andrew Garfield's Eduardo Saverin arrives demanding to see Mark Zuckerberg, and Sean Parker's explanation that Mark is "wired in" does nothing to stop him.

Eduardo grabs the computer and smashes it. "How about now, you still wired in?" Garfield asks, before confronting Jesse Eisenberg's Mark about his diluted ownership stake.

The Short reached nearly 50,000 views in 19 hours, far beyond Foxtel's usual first-day audience for the format. It's a scene from David Fincher's 2010 drama, not footage of the real Facebook founders, with Justin Timberlake playing Parker.

What makes this excerpt more than a laptop-smashing outburst is the cut to the deposition table. A lawyer works through the other shareholders' names, and Garfield repeatedly answers that their stakes weren't diluted. When the question finally turns to Eduardo's remaining share, his answer is almost flat. The office fury has become something much more contained.

Aaron Sorkin's screenplay gives the confrontation its sharp exchanges, but the clip also leaves room for Garfield sitting still. Foxtel's title credits him with stealing the scene; the contrast between those two versions of Eduardo is the detail worth watching.
