Pat Ryan pledges to impeach Hegseth in Hudson Valley speech

- 1:21Ryan praises Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and presents unity against division as a form of patriotism.
- 6:22He recounts community organizing against proposed mass detention centers in Orange County and ICE actions.
- 9:22The title's impeachment pledge arrives here, alongside promises to lower living costs and expand healthcare.
- 12:42Ryan calls for a ban on stock trading by members of Congress.
- 15:06He names Democratic candidates across New York and urges turnout to flip the House and Senate.
Pat Ryan's promise comes well into the rally speech: "We are going to impeach Pete Hegseth. We're going to stop this."
The Financial Express's upload reached roughly 123,000 views in half a day, far beyond the few thousand a regular video on the channel usually draws on its first day. But the timing matters: although posted after the election, the footage shows Ryan urging supporters to turn out for the vote still ahead of them. It is a campaign pledge, not footage of Congress taking action.
The New York representative opens by joking about following Tish James and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez onstage. He then builds an argument about patriotism, community organizing and moving from resisting the Trump administration to pursuing a Democratic agenda.
The Hegseth pledge arrives alongside promises to lower living costs and expand healthcare. Later, Ryan makes another concrete demand: "We need to ban stock trading by members of Congress."
Impeachment also features in another unusually widely watched Financial Express upload, but with a different target and message. In a separate Short about Donald Trump, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries says he has received no inquiry about impeachment from any member of his caucus. Ryan's rally pledge concerns the defense secretary; Jeffries's answer concerns the president. They are not announcements of the same proposed action.
