EthanThe Artist starts on firm ground: of course stars exist, he can see them. Then the man in the clip he's watching offers an alternative: they're holes poked in humanity's container so everyone can breathe.

That gives Ethan pause. Wearing his Burger King polo and headset, he briefly looks as though this is rather more cosmology than he was prepared to handle. The Short is a comedy reaction sketch, with the other man's celestial-container theory supplying the setup, not an astronomy lesson.

The Stupid King episode drew roughly 280,000 views in its first day, six times the channel's usual Shorts start. Its comment section was even further from routine, running about ten times busier than usual.

Viewers bring up the miniature worlds of Men in Black, question how the sun would fit into this explanation, and consider the upside of having a whole planet to explore. The film comparison fits the joke: an ordinary-looking world suddenly becomes something much smaller and stranger.

Ethan, meanwhile, doesn't need to settle the structure of the universe to reach his conclusion. Faced with the prospect of being trapped inside it, he finds a practical consolation: "Well, I'm having a good time locked up."
