Sports TV's full highlights have drawn about 1.4 million views in ten hours. That is a striking start for a channel whose regular videos usually gather a few thousand views on their first day.
Pakistan's chase began badly. Dilshan Madushanka removed Maaz Sadaqat and then Babar Azam, who was out without scoring. Fakhar Zaman and Saad Baig rebuilt with boundaries, and Saad reached his first ODI fifty before going on to 74. The channel's other uploads from the day fill in the rest: Fakhar's 127, a brisk 61 from Arafat Minhas, and Shaheen Afridi ending the final with a six.
Earlier, Shaheen had also ended Kamindu's innings with a leg-before decision that was confirmed on review. Salman Ali Agha took a return catch to remove Kusal Mendis. "That is a stunning catch," says the commentator.
The whole final played well across the channel. The live stream has passed two million views, and both single-innings packages have passed a million.
The comment section moved at nearly three times its usual first-day pace. Much of the talk is about Fakhar's habit of scoring in big matches, and some of the praise comes from viewers in India. Minhas also gets plenty of attention. Beyond the players, a recurring wish runs through the replies: more tri-series, which many see as a way to give one-day cricket new life.
