Colby Martel is wearing a Sulley hoodie, but the young interviewee opposite his microphone has a different character in mind. His job is to work out her Halloween costume, with yes-or-no questions and a steadily expanding collection of wrong guesses.

Witch, unicorn and animal are out. So are Elsa and Anna. Learning that the character is male doesn't narrow things down quite enough: Martel tries Sulley and Shrek before establishing that the answer is an animated "thing." Even Lightning McQueen gets a turn.

The Short drew nearly 690,000 views in its first 12 hours, already several times Martel's usual full-day Shorts audience. It is a small departure from the first-name puzzles filling his recent uploads, including a guessing session with creators at VidSummit.

Here, the useful clue comes from off-camera: Nickelodeon. Martel checks whether the movie character also appears in a TV show, then finally lands on SpongeBob SquarePants. His own monster costume was a distraction, not a hint.
